GET TO KNOW ME

My name is Cecilia Diefenbach. I am 31 years old and I live in Berlin. I graduated from the Academy of Illustration and Graphic Design (AID) in Berlin. Prior to this, I lived in Paris for five years, where I obtained my Bachelor of Arts in Applied Languages from Sorbonne Nouvelle III.

It was in Paris that my creative journey really began, with me making collages, printing postcards and sketching people in bars and cafés. I am very grateful for that time.

I love paper and will always remain loyal to analogue art-making. However, I also appreciate the possibilities of the digital world and enjoy combining the two. It is inspiring and expands my imaginative horizons. I cut, glue and draw characters and stories that inspire me. I deal with subjects that touch me or illustrate everyday situations. Sketching the present life is a constant practice of mine.

My main focus is cute postcards and prints, but I also enjoy working on book projects for children, young adults and adults.

As well as illustration, I paint freely on canvas using mixed media such as acrylics, fabrics and plastics. My motto is to create something new from something old.
